“Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear – not absence of fear.” –Mark Twain
Accept the fact that having fear in mind for learning a new language is absolutely normal. You may also know that your biggest obstacle is not your English, but the fact that you are paralyzed by fear and you have never learned to face it. Fear is a fact. They say that practice makes perfect. Nowhere is this more relevant than when you learn to speak a new language. But one of the many reasons for fearing to learn English is an obstacle to achieve fluency.
The speakers do not make mistakes. The truth is that we all make mistakes, even native speakers. Of course, English students make mistakes and beginners do a lot more, but they are a natural part of the process, and this is the price they pay to develop fluency. You cannot do anything in life if you’re not prepared to make mistakes.
Non-native speakers speak “perfect” English. Do not judge your fluency based on your mistakes. Judge your fluency based on your ability to communicate and connect with others. This does not mean that you should ignore your grammar, but rather accept it as part of the process.
Nobody makes mistakes on purpose. If you are afraid of making mistakes in your pronunciation, or if you are worried about presenting the perfect gift; Remember that making mistakes is inevitable. It is natural and the best way to learn. You’ve probably heard your own people talking badly or running into spelling.
Well, there are enough native English speakers to populate a small country. The simple fact that you are studying English grammar gives you an advantage over many natives. Most of the time before trying to become an expert in language, let your first goal must be to be understood. Accept your mistakes, learn from them and improve along the way.
This is the only way to master any skill, from your diphthongs to your compound verbs. Most of the time you speak English and get used to talking. If you are not lucky enough ready to study English because of the fear you are carrying in your mind, you cannot use radio, podcasts, videos, and television in English. Try to find an English speaker in your city or hometown. If there is no one to practice locally, then read, write or find people online who want to trade.
Approaching your language travel with humor is vital to your success. Sharing a joke is a great way to break the ice, and you’ll find that speaking English can be fun. Let’s be honest, let’s get closer to something in life with a little fun. From homework to studying for exams; Become a better student, but it will be more enjoyable, accessible and will encourage new conversations.
“If you want to increase your success rate, double the failure rate.” -Thomas Watson, Sr.
